Carlson Gracie, Jr. (born in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil on July 27, 1969) is a Brazilian martial artist and member of the Gracie family.

Biography

Carlson Gracie, Jr., nicknamed "O Principe do Jiu-Jitsu" or "The Prince of Jiu-Jitsu", is a practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a member of the Gracie family. He is the third child and only son of the legendary Carlson Gracie, Sr. and the grandson of the founder of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Carlos Gracie.[1][2]

Carlson began training under his father at the age of 3 and currently holds a 5th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu directly under his late father as well as a black belt in Judo.[3]

Before moving to the United States, Carlson was instructing full time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  Carlson Jr. has won 10 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships in numerous tournaments in Brazil, 6 Greco-Roman wrestling championships. After his father's passing Carlson Jr. took over the reins of the legendary Carlson Gracie Team. In 2008 he opened his own school in Murrieta, California.[4]
